It is this one of the European side's attempts to organise a round of dialogue at the top negotiators, although there is still no confirmation of whether it will come to the joint meeting.
An informed European official regarding meetings in question said it is hard to predict whether there will be a joint meeting and that everything will depend on the atmosphere that will dominate during separate conversations.
Besnik Bislimi, Kosovo's chief negotiator, has already concluded the split meeting with Lajcak, who had started at 9 and lasted nearly 2 hours. A similar meeting has, in turn, been held by Bislim's Belgrade counterpart, Petar Petkov, the Serbian chief negotiator.
A day earlier, Peter Stano, European Union spokesman, had warned that in the next round, ways to move forward with the implementation of the agreement reached in Ohrid in March 2023, as well as all other issues that Stanos says are affecting normalisation between Kosovo and Serbia.
Inequity about holding the joint meeting began as early as Friday, when Kosovo chief negotiator Besnik Bislimi through social networks confirmed the Kosovo side's readiness to hold a trilateral meeting, but that Serbia has rejected the mediator's agenda.
That there were misunderstandings about the agenda, this has been confirmed by several sources in the European Union. But these officials explained that both sides are responsible for the eventual failure to hold a trilateral meeting. Always according to these two sources tried to detect the agenda of the trilateral meeting and disagreed with mutual requirements, while ignoring the original European side proposal. /rtk
