Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, through a Facebook post, has stressed the importance of mediation as an efficient and quick tool for resolving disputes.
Focusing on the challenge of high-loading subjects in the country's courts, Kurti stressed that about 90% of mediation cases end successfully, which according to him offers a valid alternative to long and costly judicial processes.
Kurti said that from 2021 to 2023, there has been a significant increase in cases referred to for mediation by Kosovo courts. According to him, during this period alone, 5,424 criminal cases and 6,633 civil cases for intermediation have been referred to. Kurti stressed that this progress is the result of Justice Ministry policies, which have been aiming to ensure a fast and low-cost procedure for citizens.
This progress in Mediating is the result of policies implemented by the Ministry of Justice, which have provided a fast and low-cost procedure for our citizens. So I invite you to use this opportunity to settle disputes peacefully, fairly and quickly, and thus contribute to easing the burden of courts. Mediation is the wise choice for a just and lasting solution”, Kurti declared.
