The Statistics Agency has shown that the price gap is higher by 1.4 percent compared to August of last year.
The overall harmonised consumption prices “is higher at an average of 1.4 % in August 2024 compared to August 2023. This has largely been explained with the rise of consumer prices in groups and subgroups”.
Also, the overall consumer prices index is higher at an average of 0.2% in August 2024 compared to July 2024.
This is primarily explained with the rise of consumption prices in COICOP subgroups: flight tickets (12.2%), vegetables (2.1%), milk, cheese and eggs (0.7%), meat (0.5%) and grain (0.2%) with a common impact of these subgroups 0.4 percent on IHCK”.
In this report, the AK has provided accurate figures of some products that are expensive.
“Buka and cereals (3.2%), glass, kitchen picks and equipment (3.0%), tobacco (2.8%), maintenance and fixing of the settlement (2.4%), trees (2.3%), food products (2.1%), meat (2.0%), things and other recreative equipment, gardens and berries (1.2%), hotel services (1.0%), milk, cheese and eggs (07%), and electricity (07%) ”
There were also clothes, drinks, and tickets.

As prices drop in COICOP group: vegetables (-7,6%), fuel and lubricants for personal transport equipment (-5.3%) and vehicle purchase (-3,2%), with an impact of -0.8 percent on IHCH.
The cost of building has also marked increases
The overall Kosovo Construction Cost index grew to 3.2% in TM2-2024, compared to TM1 2024. Meanwhile, compare TM2 2024, with the same period in the preliminary year (TM2 2023), the Construction Cost Index grew by 3.9%.
“The overall value of the Kosovo Construction Cost (IKN) increased by 3.2% in the second quarter (TM2 2024), compared to the first quarter (TM1 2024). Growth had to pay (8.4%), energy (4.4%), transport (3.6%), machinery (1.4%) and materials (1.0%). But the drop was in other costs (-0.3%)”.
The overall Kosovo Construction Cost index (IKN) increased by 3.9% in the second quarter (TM2 2024), compared to the second quarter (TM2 2023).
Greater growth was in salaries (16.8%), transportation (6.3%), other costs (2.4%), and materials (2.0%). While, the decline came to energy (-2.1%) and machines (-1.3%). Monitor
