The United Nations in co-operation with Palestinian health authorities launched the vaccination of 640,000 children in the Gaza Strip.
Israel and Hamas ʹ the Palestinian group declared terrorist organisations by the United States and the European Union have agreed to a brief fighting pause in order to carry out this vaccine campaign.
Last month, the World Health Organization confirmed that a baby had been partially paralyzed by the type 2 polio virus. This was the first case of this virus that was registered in Gaza in the last 25 years.
The vaccination campaign started on Sunday in areas in central Gaza, while in the coming days the vaccine will be conducted in other areas as well. The fights will be paid for at least eight hours in the next three days.
O The BSH said the battle zone would probably have to last another day.
These are just the first hours of the first phase of mass campaign, one of the most complex campaigns in the world”, said Juliette Touma, spokesperson of U. NRWE, UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees.
O Officials The BSH has said that at least 90 per cent of children should be vaccinated twice within four weeks so that the campaign will succeed, but this inoculation campaign is facing challenges in Gaza because of the plea between Israel and Hamas, which began on October 7th last year. /rel
