Kusari-Lila: Determined move to ban import of Serbian products concerns national security

German envoy for the Balkans Manuel Sarrazin has warned that Kosovo could face requests for exemption from the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) and other punitive measures, if it continues to keep the import ban on Serbian products. Vetevendosje Movement MP Mimoza Kusari-Lila, following the assembly of Kosovo's Parliament Speakership, has said the move imposed on Serbia concerns national security.

Kusari-Lila after gathering Kosovo's Parliament's Headship at a media conference has said Kosovo is awaiting scenes, which would make the scheme of trucks or menes to enter all border points.
“Against all of Kosovo is in expectation of specific scenes, which would make the scheme of trucks or menes to enter all border points, in particular due to security problems in the northern part. I believe that in time terms the best mode will be found so that the moment we have full confidence that it can prevent illegal smuggling from within the territory of Serbia can be removed, the security measure that I am re-increasing is a matter of national security”, Kusari-Lila said.

There are two processes in which Kosovo is on the agenda of regional forums, the first is CEFTA. After the kidnapping of three policemen on Serbia's part, Kosovo has decided to block products from Serbia. Germany's bid presented through Sarrazzin has to do with lifting this move on Serbia in exchange for placing Kosovo's name in the CEFTA agreement... In the Berlin process, Kosovo has been not only constructive but has insisted on being the only regional co-operation platform for all Western Balkan countries. There we are represented as a state indiscriminately, d.m. th Kosova with the five Western Balkan states and we continue to remain active participants”, Kusari-Lila has said.

Kusari-Lila said the adoption of three international agreements has also been established.

There are three international agreements, 28 points for review”, she said.

There is not enough space to complete the work of an investigative commission”, she said.
