Morina: People arrested today have participated in Recak Massacre

The Special Prosecutor and police have arrested five people today who are suspected of participating in the Recak Massacre in January 1999.

Despite an indictment filed over this massacre in December last year, The PSRK has not stopped the job, and after six months of intensive investigation, it has been able to identify these people who have been arrested today.

In terms of the action, before the media, the prosecutor, Ilir Morina, has provided details.

At the conference, Morina declared that for the manure, there are suspicions based on that they had been part of the special Serb police units and had participated in leading this massacre.

“The claims we have continued during these months we have come to identify even some people who have been part of Serbia's special police units since they were part of the action on January 15th in Recak”, Morina said before the media.

On January 15th 1999, 45 Albanian civilians were massacred in the village of Recak.
