Analyst Ylli Hoxha has stressed that it is no surprise that Kosovo's north will be the main focus of Vetevendosje Movement (LVV) in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
According to Hoxha, the opposition has taken an undecided stance for the north, supporting LVV from time to time, but always depending on the positions of foreign embassies.
“Oposor either kept silent for the north or supported LVV from time to time for the north. But this support has lasted until a foreign embassy has reacted, and then the opposition has reacted in line with the international”, Hoxha has declared.
On the other hand, political analyst from Northern Macedonia Blendi Hodaj described Prime Minister Albin Kurti's visit to the north as a “sfilata”, part of an election strategy.
He suggests that LVV aims to exploit the success of control in the north as the main topic of its campaign, supporting this strategy with rhetoric.
Hodaj believes this rhetoric has created a propaganda space that LV will use to promote success in the north.
Kastriot Jahaj considers Kurti's governance as the continuation of promises of harsh access to Serbia, stressing that Kurti has strongly imposed the implementation of several agreements.
The “Kurti has come to rule with the promise that will continue to be tough on Serbia, and has done so during government. But those agreements signed by past governments that have been in the process of implementing Kurti has forcibly pushed”, Jahaj has declared.
While Freedom Mehmetaj, commenting on the presence of KFOR troops in Kosovo, said the requirement for troop growth means reducing Kosovo's sovereignty.
Mehmetaj also stressed that LVV is building its campaign about success in the north, citing Kurti's courage to fight criminal gangs and extend sovereignty to that part of the country.
While analyst Ibrahim Delija emphasises that Kurti has been the only one who has opposed the creation of the Serb Majority Commission Association and has defended Kosovo's territoriality in the past.
He says that under Kurti's rule, citizens in the north have taken courage to open businesses and use natural resources, such as Lake Weyman, for a picnic. /Telegraphy/
