Konjufca put dialogue with Serbia in the coffin, but Bislim is preparing for next meeting with Petkov

As soon as there is expected to be a meeting in Brussels under the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, the chief speaker believes he is in a deadlock from which he said he doesn't see much of the way out. Glauk Konjufca confirmed that the dialog in the “format was from 2011” has died and requested a new “ ”. But the chief negotiator of [...]
Chief Parliamentary Glauk Konjufca considered Kosovo's dialogue with Serbia dead, while said the results of the investigation into the September 24th 2023 attack on Zvecan Banjska show Belgrade stands behind him.
The “Dialogue is totally in a deadlock from which I don't see much way out of”, he said at a news conference after a modern meeting of the Parliament's Headship.
This dead end has previously contributed to Serbia's actions. I think the dialogue in the format since 2011 had the coffin on September 24th of last year, with the terrorist attack on Banjska, because the information that the international community has, including our security institutions, including intelligence, clearly shows that this large criminal group of hundreds, had direct support from the Serbian state”, Conjuca said.
He said the paramilitary group “has offered logistics and all state support, including military polygons”.
For this reason”, he said that “has been destroyed even the minimum trust required to have a negotiation process to continue normally”.
The “What happened in Banjska was the last nail probably in the Brussels dialogue coffin, which started in 2011. So it is up to the international community to be much more defined than you want. If you want equal parties in dialogue, like two states, if you want and still think that the principle of the Ohrid Agreement for the parties to function as sovereign states of the united nations, as it writes, if the international community makes up its mind to walk on this road, Kosovo is ready”, Konjufca said.
The chief speaker said he saw no “reaction on the part of Brussels, nor the international community”, after saying Serbia closed the border points with Kosovo.
He accused the international community of partiality.
So we are aware and this is clear that the international community is unilateral in the realisations between Kosovo and Serbia”, Konjufca said.
The prime minister said that “for this reason requires a new path”.
But Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi is preparing for a meeting soon with Petar Petkov at the chief negotiator level. He even agreed on the date at a meeting in Pristina on Friday with the European Union's envoy for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
Miroslav Lajcak confirmed it that day after their meeting in the Government of Kosovo.
“We agreed on a date for the meeting, but I don't want to let it know”, he said.
Lajcak said that with Bisimi he spoke to “the future meeting of the chief negotiators and the approaches to how to handle some of the current issues, as well as future steps towards implementing the Agreement on the road to normalisation”.
Bislim discussions with Lajcak, as the Prime Minister's Office said, focused on “the road ahead with the implementation sequence plan for the Brussels Agreement and Implementation Annex”.
Bislimin expressed commitment to sitting down in dialogue with the Serbian side.
He underlined that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo is consistently engaged as a constructive side in dialogue. As such, it remains committed to full and unconditional implementation of the Basic and Annex Agreement, and convinced that its signing is the proper and necessary guarantee for full implementation by Serbia and accountability for its continued violations” was said that day in an ZKM communiqué.
Lajcak has warned he will go to Serbia as well.
Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vuchevic said today that he thinks the meeting in Brussels will happen “very soon”. /express
