KMDLNj has said that if the only reason for his arrest is his whistling to Prime Minister Kurti, it is a serious violation of human rights, denial of freedom of speech and the right to peaceful protest and guaranteed by Kosovo laws and national and international documents for human rights.
“According to several Kosovo media, during Kosovo KM visit Albin Kurti to northern Kosovo, police have arrested Serbian politician Arsenijevic because he whistled when he passed KM Kurt next to him. KMDLNj has no further information on the arrest of the Serbian politician, so it requires that the Kosovo Police Inspectorate make urgent investigations into the reason for the arrest if the media claims are true. If the whistle against Kosovo's KM alone is the real and single reason, it would be a serious violation of human rights, a denial of freedom of speech and the right to peaceful protest and guaranteed by Kosovo laws and international and human rights documents. It is not the first time Arsenijevic is arrested and after the police interview he is released. KMDLNI advocates the right to freedom of speech, expression and peaceful protest despite national affiliation, trust, political beliefs, race, gender, age and status in society. Investigation and action for eventual wrongdoing”.
