Iran's first deputy chairman, Mohammad Reza Aref, reportedly said that the killing of Hasan Nasrallah would bring the “collapse” of Israel.
“We warn the leaders of the invading regime that the unjust bloodshed... particularly of Hezbollah Secretary-General, Witness Seyid Hasan Nasrallah, will bring their destruction”, Iranian news agency Isna quoted Aref as saying.
Aref was appointed by Iran's new (relative) president, Masoud Peskian, as his first vice president in July. He had served as deputy chairman under reformist former president Mohammad Khatami from 2001 to 2005.
