Kosovo police have confirmed that it is the arrest that took place last night in northern Mitrovica, where four persons of the Serbian nationality have been put in handcuffs after insulting and attacking two members of the Kosovo Police.
The people arrested are R. N, L.K., V.J. and M.M.
Petrit Feyza of Kosovo Police has told the Express that since those arrested have been under the influence of alcohol, they have been able to interview last night and that the interview process will be carried out today.
Because they were under the influence of alcohol, they couldn't make a statement last night. Hence, they have been banned, so their statements on this event will be made today. After that, it will be decided what we'll do next”, Fyza said.
The detainees are currently at the station in southern Mitrovica. As a result of the incident, one of the policemen suffered bodily injuries.
For claims that the police have beaten the detainees, Fyza has clarified that once a prisoner resists or tries to escape, then the police have the right to use force.
