Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Bekim Haxhiu has declared that the daily rhetoric of the heads of state for possible threats from Serbia repels foreign investors. Therefore, it considers the closure of the agreement with the Serbian state vital, reports Online Economy.
During the Commission's Health meeting with the German delegation, Haxhiu has said that citizens' flight is due to poverty, so he considers peace achieved with mutual recognition.
When we're the poorest in Europe, it's normal for people to leave a poor country, how we can stop this, only with economic development. When there is economic development, then citizens do not leave because they create better conditions. Economic development comes with investment and support from partners and friends, but if every day the major news is the potential threat coming from Serbia and the daily political rhetoric is about war, then investors couldn't come because they want security”.
“That is why we need the dialogue process with Serbia to end with mutual recognition, to get to what is a normal neighbourhood, since I was also a member of The KLA and I consider the issue of war to be over in 1999 with Serbia and we need peace that can be realised through the process of dialogue, but that this is mutual recognition, and that it opens the way to European perspective”, Haxhi said.
