The chief of Austria's Freedom Party (FPO) delegation to the European Parliament, Harald Vilimski, said a compromise on the Kosovo issue is possible, but that it is necessary to change political circumstances in the EU, as well as the situation in the US.
“I believe a compromise can be reached, but political circumstances must change to the European Union. The situation in the United States must also change, and the first step toward this is the next election. Second, our alliance is becoming stronger, so far Von der Leyen and her team are strong, but our alliance is expanding and different political circumstances can arise. We all need political changes, not only in the US, but also throughout Europe”, Vilimski said in an interview for Vecernje Novosti.
During his two-day visit to Belgrade, Vilymski met with President Alexander Vuciq and National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabiq and reiterated his stance that of all Balkan countries, he sees only Serbia as a potential candidate for membership in the European Union.
“I have talked with President Vuciq about how we can unite, establish an alliance to stop the attacks by left politicians towards Serbia and Hungary, and how to deepen the relations we are currently cultivating. Serbia, like Hungary, was criticised for the last elections. I was an observer in Hungary and saw how the elections went. No problems. We also know that elections in Serbia were free and that there were no manipulations, while Socialists like Andreas Schider attacked your country and said the vote was not fair and fair. I have protected both Serbia and Hungary because I am convinced that everything has been okay. I was honored and positively surprised when President Vuciq thanked me for that attitude”, Vilimski said.
