Elshani: The situation in the north compared to last year is like night to day

The deputy director of police in the north, Veton Elshani, in an anniversary of Banjska's aggression and the fall of hero Africa Bulnjak, said that the security situation is now very different and that Kosovo police are in each part of the country. “The security situation in the north of the country is different, positive I think. The security situation in the north of the country is different, positively thinking. Of course, in 2022 even 2023 until September 2023, it has been a period of total unknownness. After Banjske's case the situation has been clarified. Kosovo police are in each part of the country, our reactions are immediate, any information we have we react to”, Elshani said.
He said further that the situation compared to last year is like “enta day”.
It's like night-to-day because now we know the terrain, we know the roads, the area, we have information, we communicate with people, it's a very different situation, and we need time to get to this stage where we are now. What is most important is that there have been many developments during 2022 and 2023 that have led many criminal groups or people who have criminal backgrounds or are arrested or not to be here”, Elshani told Rtv21
Elshani during an interview for RTV21 said Kosovo police will continue to work that they do not plan to withdraw.
