This will be the first hearing session in court, following the Supreme Court's decision that former presidents enjoy broad immunity from criminal charges.
Judge Tanja Chutkan oversees this court case based on charges that former President Trump plotted to overturn the outcome of the 2020 elections, ahead of the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Former President Trump is not expected to be present and it was not clear whether Judge Chutkan would make a decision Thursday.
