Congresswoman Ritchie Torres, co-chairman of the Group for Albanian Affairs at the U.S. Congress, has spoken of Banjsca's case.
He yesterday N=in a tweet, Torres demanded that the perpetrators of the attack take responsibility.
“Today, it has been a year since the terrorist attack on Banjska in Kosovo. We honor the sacrifice of police officer Africa Bulnjak in protecting the people during this attack and ask that the authors take responsibility for their actions within Kosovo”, Torres wrote yesterday.
Earlier in the day, there were other reactions.
US Ambassador to Pristina Jeffrey Hovenier paid tribute to the Bunjak tomb in Vushtrri on 24 September.
I joined the Kosovo Government and my diplomatic colleagues today to honour the memory of Kosovo Police Officer Africa Bulnjak, who was killed in office in the Banjska attack a year ago. The United States repeats calls and expects perpetrators and all involved in this horrible crime to be held accountable”, Havenier wrote on X.
Meanwhile, the EU said it expects Serbia to take necessary steps to ensure that the suspects for carrying out the deadly attack on Banjska are accountable.
Kosovo has named the attack a terrorist and accuses the state of Serbia of having a finger on it. Serbia has denied the accusations.
Earlier this month, Kosovo's Special Prosecutor filed charges against 45 people for the attack.
