The parents of class II/4 of Low School High School “dani” have decided to boycott the school process from tomorrow, because according to them the scheduled school year 2024-2025 is inadequate.
Through a media communique, it is said that the schedule proposed for children in the second grade is between 1500 and 18:25.
According to them, this schedule is extremely inappropriate for children, as it completely upsets their daily dynamics, reports Online Economics.
Many of us, as working parents, send our children in daily time at 7:30 a.m., and this new schedule means that we can only get the children around 7:00 p.m. It is scientifically proven that such times are not effective for children, as they disrupt the learning process. Furthermore, the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, Article 50, Point 4, clearly stresses that “all actions involving children, taken by the institutions of public power, whether by private institutions, will be in the best interest of children.
We strongly believe that this schedule for students aged 7-8 does not take into account the best interest of our children. While such a schedule may be acceptable in extraordinary situations, Kosovo and our educational system are not going through any such period. Therefore, we, the parents of students of Class II/4, have unanimously decided to boycott the teaching process from Monday (30,2024), until we are given a more appropriate time for our children”, the communiqué says.
