Citizens say prices are unbearable, compared to salaries

ASS statistics every period are pointing to rising consumer product prices. Citizens continue to feel expensive and view prices as affordable, especially compared with wages. Economists even say price hikes are jeopardising many businesses.

The rise in consumer prices is continuing to be the main concern of citizens. According to them, the high prices of the articles, compared with wages, make living unbearable.

“Chanced with the standard, prices are too big, I don't know how people we're able to survive”, says a citizen.

“Prices have increased everywhere, on each market”, says the other citizen.

For about 20% or more, more has been increased than last year, for our standards, these prices are up”, the citizen says.

Economy recogniser Hysen Sogojeva said the price raised is jeopardising the closure of many businesses.

The basic products have increased for nearly 40%, now when we have this growth, businesses should also realise this increase in sales, so that clientila” remains, Sogojevo said.

Even Kosovo's Statistics Agency has reported that consumer prices have scored 1.4 percent increases compared to August 2023. This largely according to the AKS, was explained with the rise of tree prices, flight tickets, solid fuels, mineral water, bread, cereals, and some other food products.
