Residents and authorities in Central Europe continue to battle heavy rainfall and floods.
In Romania, officials said at least six people have lost their lives and two others have disappeared.
In Austria, a fireman died during a rescue operation.
In Poland, a drowning victim was also reported, while in the Czech Republic four people are missing.
The Austrian province surrounding Vienna was declared the “disaster zone”, while Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk also declared a state of natural disaster.
Train ties between Poland and the Czech Republic were suspended.
In Czechia, some 250,000 families continue to lose electricity. In the capital city of Prague, authorities took steps to prevent floods around the Voltawa River.
The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management in Romania issued red alarm for Galati and Vaslui counties, where floods in some areas were 3m deep.
The predictions are that the rains and strong winds that began late last week will continue during Monday. / REL
