Budapest is preparing for the greatest floods of the decade

At the request of several counties, Defence Minister Cristóf Szalay-Bobrovitzky ordered the deployment of soldiers for flood protection preparations at the Mosonmagyaróvár settlements, Neszmély, Pilismarót and along the Lyta River.
Interior Minister Sandor Pinter said at a press conference Sunday that the government has authorised the interior ministry department to organise protection from floods
The forecasts say that the level of Danube and Laita water will reach, perhaps even exceed the water level in 2013, when Budapest was hit by unprecedented flooding.
