The Ibri Bridge was the point Serbia sought to enter into the debate agenda at yesterday's meeting in Brussels of the rank of chief negotiators, while Kosovo refused to enter as an additional point from mediator Miroslav Lajcak's proposed agenda.

This also led to the failure of a trilate meeting. In Brussels, however, the bridge became a topic after Lajcak discussed the split with the two chief negotiators.

Likewise, the Bislimi bridge spoke with NATO official Thomas Goffus, but that's what he reported to the Kosovo public.

Assistant Secretary General for Operation NATO, Thomas Goffus, under the presence of EU official Stefano Tomat, met Kosovo and Serbia's chief negotiators in the margins of dialogue.

At the start of a communiqué published by NATO, it became known that Goffus at the meeting with Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi had spoken on the issue of opening Ibër Bridge for vehicles. It had highlighted the position the Alliance is taking recently that this issue should be discussed between Kosovo and the international community not to jeopardise the security of KFOR citizens or soldiers.

“Assistant Secretary General for Operations discussed the security situation in Kosovo and addressed security concerns about the possible opening for road traffic of the Iber River bridge in Mitrovica. Goffus stressed the need for a comprehensive and sustainable solution. He noted that <x1 seats should be taken through dialogue, in time and effective co-ordination with the international community, and in order not to jeopardise the safety of local communities or NATO troops”. He added that the NATO-led KFOR “commission is obliged by his UN mandate to address any security concerns and maintain a secure” environment. KFOR maintains its fixed presence on the bridge and continues to conduct regular patrols in areas around”, NATO said in the statement.

Goffus at these meetings has reiterated NATO's full support for the EU facilitated dialogue “for normalising relations between Belgrade and Pristina”.

NATO says that “is the framework for resolving unresolved issues and reaching solutions that respect the rights of all communities, which is key to lasting security in Kosovo and for stability throughout the Western Balkans”.

“NATO has long-term co-operation with the European Union and will continue to co-operate closely in supporting regional stability”.

But on the subject he announced NATO, the Bislimi s '%e, mentioned neither in his statement to journalists in Brussels after meeting nor in the social network “X”, where he announced he had met with NATO official.

Bisly discussing the possible opening of the Ibër Bridge was summed up in “various security issues”

The best “meeting in Brussels with NATO Assistant Secretary General for Operations Tom Goffus and Stefano Tomat, Civil Operations Commander at the EU Foreign Service. I stressed the importance that our government gives close co-operation with NATO, while we also addressed various security issues”, Bislim concluded, broadcast experiments.

However, the prime minister's office spoke a little bit about the Ibër Bridge when it announced the Bislim meeting with Lajcak.

It said that the EU clearly has to open up, while also mentioning European Commission reports on the issue.

As far as the Iber River bridge is concerned, it is clear to the EU that there is no alternative but opening the bridge. The deputy prime minister added that even in European Commission reports since 2014, The EU says the bridge should be opened, without delay further. He said this issue has already been addressed and agreed on in Brussels, under the dialogue process, and that it should be opened under the existing agreement, where it is also described as symbol of normalisation”.
