In a long post on the social Facebook network, Arifi analyses the motives behind these attacks and warns of possible consequences in Kosovo society.
According to Arifi, the VV is exploiting the issue of northern Kosovo and patriotism as the main topic for the 2025 election campaign.
The Vetevendosje Movement appears to have decided patriotism and the north to be the main topics with which it aims to win the 2025 elections,” he writes, adding that a considerable part of the population views the current situation in the north as a permanent success.
Analyst raises the question: “Why is Ramush Haradinaj being attacked at this very stage? ”
Noting that every day, VV MPs and ideologists are attacking Haradinaj, coupled with massive insults from party structures.
Arifi argues Haradinaj possesses valuable experience in the northern issue, something the VV does not have at any level, and this prevents the ruling party.
Arifi underlines the Haradinaj family's extraordinary contribution to the Kosovo freedom fight. He mentions the sacrifice of many family members, beginning with Ramush's grandmothers Ziza and Mother Azze, who were massacred after offering resistance at Jablanice.
“Ramushi was wounded three times” explains Arifi, adding that his brothers, Shonzen and The Lion, were killed on the front line, while Daut was wounded three times, and the father of Hilmi and Brother Enver were wounded.
The former ambassador emphasises Ramush Haradinaj's role in preventing Mitrovica's partition scenario in Pec, which cost him two counts at The Hague.
“Ramushi defeated both the indictments and 40,000 pages of evidence from the Serbian state, as well as a full colborationist,” writes Arifi.
Voicing concern for the attacks on Haradinaj, Arifi calls them “surveillance for a people”. He sharply criticises specific characters who, according to him, are attacking Haradinaj without having any contribution to the nation.
Could it be worse for a people who endure people like Basha, Gola, and Ferrej ? This Tirana mercenary who mourns why Ramush killed Ramush and many leading deputies of life and feeling for Homeland? ” he asks rhetorically.
Arifi ends up stressing the importance of respecting the sacrifice of those who have fought for freedom.
It's not water, it's sacred. The sanctity of shed blood for nation can never tarnish the VV's red gangs, nor anyone else,” he writes, calling for a more cautious and respectful approach to Kosovo's historical figures, which continue to make their contribution to the country.
