With these actions, my message is clear: The US will give Ukraine the support it needs to win this fight”, Biden said through a statement.
The package includes a system for the first time, a precise 130 - mile [130 km] slide bomb that is launched by a fighter plane. Also included in the package are additional batteries of Patriot systems and the AMRAAM missile.
Beden, finishing the mandate in January, said the training of Ukrainian pilots for F-16s would be expanded, including training 18 additional pilots next year.
He said Washington and its partners are taking steps to prevent the cryptovalut network that is being used by Russia to avoid sanctions and deliver money, but did not eliminate more.
Beden also announced that the Ukrainian Protection Contact Group, consisting of more than 50 states, will be held in Germany next month. He said the meeting would focus on better co-ordinating efforts to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
Zelensky through an X post thanked Beden for the new aid package.
Zelensky is expected to extend the “peace plan” during the meeting, which will later take place during September 26th with Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris at the White House.
Beden and Zelensky have had a brief conversation in the Magnaries of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 25th.
