400kg of cocaine case freshens trial against accused

Judge Arren announced that he will be head of the court from now on, as Judge Musa Condiel retired. Also, Judge Valbona Musliu-Selimaj announced that, instead, Judge Beqman Beqiri has been appointed. The other member of the court is Judge Valon Kurtaj.

In the case of 400kg of cocaine coming from Brazil, charged are the owner of the company “M C# source files FOOD”, Izet Sheqiri, and four others, Faton Vrajolli, Kadri Sheqiri, Candria Beatry, Fehmi Bytyqi, reports “Justice bet”.

Later, with the agreement of the parties, the charges were considered and read, and the accused Izet Sheqiri, Faton Vrajll, Kadri Sheqiri, Kadri Brahimi and Fehmi Bytyqi were acquitted.

While, after that special prosecutor, Valdet Gashi said he stands in whole next to the opening word given in the judicial examination before the preliminary court.

On the other hand, the defender of accused Izet Sheqiri, lawyer Besnik Berisha, warned that he may no longer be Sheqiri's protector, while saying the latter is not a criminal.

“... This is probably my last address to the court in this case. Izet Sheqiri is not a criminal, is not a man who wants evil for anyone, and has contributed to the evil that hits him the most”, lawyer Berisha said.

He said Sheqiri and his associates were unaware of the drug transport, and that only when the workers had shown a need to change a device into a truck had the police been introduced and that they knew that drugs were in the truck.

Berisha said that such inspection had not been made by the accused Sheqiri. According to him, the drugs brought by Brazil have no connection with the accused.

The lawyer said that all equipment and any requested document have been provided by the defendant Sheqiri. He said his defense had co-operation with the Prosecutor.

Berisha said that even the investigation into the details of the financial revenues on the part of the prosecution had been made, but that no shortcomings had been found from that raid. He added that company “M C# source files FOOD” has been and continues to be state taxpayer.

Lawyer Berisha finally demanded from the court that the Sheqiri be released from the detention measure, and the same is replaced by some softer measure, ensuring that the same will fully respect any court request.

While defendant Faton Vryilli's defender, lawyer Nora Grejchevci-Mehmeti, said she supports the lawyer Berisha's opening word and will apply for replacing her detention against her milder security shield.

On the other hand, the defender of accused Kadri Sheqiri, lawyer Dzafer Maliqi, said they look forward to presenting arguments that, according to him, testify to the innocence of the defendant Sheqiri. He said there are no arguments that support well-based suspicion.

Even the defender of accused Kadri Brahimi, lawyer Dafina Osmani, also said she supports the lawyer Berisha's opening word, adding that she is convinced that the innocence of her defense will be proven during the trial process.

In the end, the opening word for accused Fehmi Bytyqi was given by lawyer Rame Dresey, adding that his client was only a truck driver where drugs were found and that he was unaware of what was inside him.

Later, the court rejected the attorneys Berisha's proposal and Gajchev-Mehmeti's proposal that indictees Sheqiri and Vrajolli have the detention measure interrupted. But, they said in the future they would assess whether the causes for the existence of the detention measure have ceased.

Along with the five accused, Hyzri Sheqiri and Naim Morina were also charged in this case, but after reaching the plea agreement against them, the criminal case was set aside.

Otherwise, accused Hyzri Sheqiri after reaching the plea agreement with the Prosecutor has been sentenced to 7 months in effective prison for obstructing criminal procedure. The accused Naim Morina, on the other hand, has been sentenced to six months in prison for obstructing the criminal procedure.

This trial had changed the court, where Judge Arben Hoti was changed to Judge Valon Kurtaj.

In the indictment of the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK), in the case of sequencing 400kg of cocaine, charged are the owner of the company “M C# source files FOOD”, Izet Sheqiri, and six others, Faton Vrajolli, Kadri Sheqiri, Kadri Tundrim, Fehmi Bytyqi, Hyzri Sheqiri and Naim Morina.

Otherwise, “Justice Vow” has reported exclusively on the Prosecution File concerning this case, where the owner of the company “is accused. M C# source files FOOD”, Izet Sheqiri, as well as Faton Vrajolli, Kadri Sheqiri, Tranche, Fehmi Bytyqi, Hyzri Sheqiri and Naim Morina.

In this indictment, the prosecution has proposed that 400kg of cocaine, cars, weapons and about 26 thousand euros be confiscated.
