All this because the Ministry of Finance, which is headed by Iron Murati, has not released the second budgetary circuit, on which municipalities draft the budget for next year.
This has raised concern among Kosovo mayors, who for the matter already has a deadline of only two weeks.
Kosovo Communist Association Director Saban Ibrahimi has told Periscopi that the Ministry of Finance, Labour and Transitions has not yet given the green light to municipalities for drafting municipal budgets for 2025.
Thus, this minister must release the second budgetary circuit, where municipalities accept budgetary boundaries and, according to these budgetary borders, municipalities draft a municipal budget project “he said.
According to him after drafting the municipal budget, according to the legislation in effect, these budgetary projections should be discussed with citizens and by September 01nd, this year or September 02th because it is Monday, the mayor must hand it over to the municipal assembly.
The “Communs are extremely concerned that the MFPT has not yet released the second budgetary circuit and that the deadline for drafting budgetary projections for 2025 as well as civic consulting is very short”, Ibrahim told Periscope.
It in the quality of the Kosovo Commission Association Executive Director has asked MPPT to be more constructive in relation to municipalities because the obstacles that are being caused by this ministry on the field are suffering.
The “is not known why this action by the MPPT is taking place in relation to municipality”, he said. /Periscope
