February 2nd is the date proposed by the Vetevendosje Movement to hold elections, sources for TIME have announced.
The Vetevendosje movement has kept its proposal for the election date secret, while other political parties had issued a date.
The three opposition parties -- the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Democratic League of Kosovo and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo -- have declared it January 26th. And, VV Parliamentary Group chief Mimoza Kusari-Lila, who is also chairman of the Alternative, had given February 9th and 16th as the most favourable.
President Vjosa Osmani on Thursday has said that Friday is the last day when parties can expand their views on the election date, and that eventually it will be the presidency's discretion to choose the most appropriate date.
There are no more differences, a week less, I don't believe they made any big difference even for political parties participating in the election”, she said.
