Television CBS News '%s' wrote on Wednesday that it had invited candidates Vance and Waltz to hold a debate in New York City, offering four possible dates, 17 September, September 24th, October 1st and October 8th.
Democrat Walz shared the message from his campaign account for the vice presidential post by writing, “See you on October 1st, JD” The democrat double campaign, Harris-Waltz, commented with a message saying that Walz “mezi expects to debate with JD Vance if he participates”.
The republican candidate for the vice presidential post, JD Vance, wrote on the X network that he would accept the invitation for the October 1st debate, while challenging rival Walz to debate on September 18th.
There have been questions whether candidates Walz and Vance would face a televised debate before the November 5th elections. A few weeks ago President Joe Biden withdrew from the race for a second term at the White House, while the Democrats chose Vice President Harris to lead the presidential race.
The republican candidate for the vice presidential post, JD Vance, has been generally focused on the Democrat Harris, with which she would have to debate before President Biden withdraws from the race. Mr. Vance has criticised rival Walz, raising questions about the time the Democrat served in the National Guard, the American Army's branch. Mr. Trump said he wanted Mr. Vance to argue with Mr. Walz on CBS television, and the network had discussed possible dates for debate.
The debate between the rivals for vice presidents is expected to take place several weeks after the main debate between Republican Trump and Democrat Harris, scheduled on September 10th and moderated by the channel ABC News.
Republican candidate for president Donald Trump has said he has negotiated several other dates for possible debates on different television channels.
Network Fox News has also proposed a debate between rivals Harris and Trump on September 4th, and the channel The NBC News) aims to realise a debate on September 25th. During a rally in Michigan, Mrs. Harris said he was a happy “on the possibility of a” debate. /voa
