This was announced by KFOR, who said such additional arrangements are part of the periodic training KFOR conducts to test its old procedures and protect the highest operational standards.
That's KFOR's response to the Gazette Express:
“KFOR also maintains a fixed presence on the main bridge over the Iber/Iber River in Mitrovica and continues to conduct regular patrols in surrounding areas.
KFOR is monitoring the security situation in northern Kosovo and remains vigilant. It is determined to take all necessary measures to continue fulfilling its UN mandate and to respond to any further relevant development”, they say.
On the other hand, they stress that the NATO-led KFOR “commission reaffirms its steadfast commitment to contribute to a safe environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo, at any time and impartially, under its UN mandate.
KFOR acts as the third security reacter and continues to co-ordinate closely with all his counterparts, including the Kosovo Police and the EU's mission for Law Rule (EULEX), respectively, as the first and second security responseer”
