How important is French president's visit to Serbia, former Kosovo Ambassador to Germany Skender Jakaliu, says these visits are continuing efforts to promote dialogue.

“The visas of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron in Serbia are an important sign that these two countries attach importance to the EU, the Western Balkans, these visits are part of continuing efforts to promote dialogue and normalise relations between Serbia and Kosovo, as well as to advance the Western Balkans' European integration process,” has said Jakaliu in RTV. Dukagini.

He says “Strengthening Kosovo- Serbia is one of the main messages of EU leaders' visits to Serbia, as well as Belgrade's encouragement to continue and intensify dialogue with Kosovo. ”

According to Jakaliu, normalising the relations of Kosovo and Serbia are a precondition for European integration.

“Normising relations between Kosovo and Serbia is a prerequisite for the two countries' progress towards European integration. Scholz and Macron have been clear in their positions that dialogue is the only way to achieve lasting stability in the region”, Jakaliu said.

While saying these visits are also aimed at a new postponement of the dialogue process, which, according to him, has often faced various difficulties and impasses.
