Srpska after meetings in Pristina: QUINT told us he didn't support the action, asked the bridge not to open

The Serbian list has announced the meetings it has held today with the ambassadors of the QUINT countries, then with KFOR deputy commander General Federic Bernak and UNMIK chief Caroline Ziade. Through a report, the Serbian List has called for urgent action by international representatives for return to the former situation, as they say Prime Minister Albin Kurti's actions are driving Serbs out of Kosovo.

“We sought the largest presence of KFOR forces in northern Kosovo and Metohija and protection of the Serb population under the influence of the regime in Pristina and the commitment of all to preserving peace in these areas.

We have clearly stressed that yesterday's intervention directly jeopardised the work of thousands of Serbs, but also providing services to tens of thousands of Serbs and other citizens in Kosovo”, the report said.

Also at these meetings, the Serbian List has demanded that the Ibër Bridge not be opened, as they say it could exacerbate the security situation.

We reiterated our request and expectations that the Ibër Bridge will not be opened because it is a nerve point that can further exacerbate the fragile security situation, and expect responsible behavior of all actors in order to maintain peace.

We especially stressed that the Serbian people are firmly committed to peace and to return dialogue with the aim of resolving all open issues in a democratic and civilising manner, and not with the brutal use of force and unilateral action of the regime in Pristina”, the report said.

On the other hand, the Serbian List stressed that representatives of the QUINT] countries have not supported yesterday's Kosovo Police Action to close up illegal municipalities in the north.

Quinta's “representatives reiterated the position made last night in their announcement, that they in no way supported the unilaterally held action of the institutions that those actions were carried out without co-ordination with them, and that they should expect all issues to be resolved through a dialogue managed by the European Union. They have reiterated that because of unilateral actions, Kosovo has been introduced to the necessary measures that are still in force”, the report said.
