The deputy chairman of the Kosovo Nurses' House (OIK), Leonora Bakija, in an interview for KosovoPress, shows that by 21 August this year more than 200 unaccidented licenses and nearly 90 confirmations of the ethical code for nurses, documents required by institutions to go abroad.
Bakija shows that the main reasons for running nurses outside Kosovo are lack of jobs, inadequate conditions, low wages, risks at the workplace, and lack of protection from institutions.
OIK's deputy head stresses that if this trend of running out of nurses continues and no measures are taken to improve conditions, Kosovo is threatened to remain without nurses.
Bakija points out that the government should take action regarding the nurses' involvement in the new salary law.
During 2023, 713 undocumented licenses and 116 confirmations of the ethical code were withdrawn from nurses in OIC.
