Ramadani, on the basis of Serbia's international arrest of Interpol, was arrested at the Jarzica border and sent to the Shutka prison for 30 days of extradition detention. The contents of the arrest are based on Serbia's allegations that Ramadani, a former KLA soldier, has committed war crimes in the Nerodime region.
The trial judge, Pajazi Pajaziti, from the Criminal Court in Skopje, had transferred Ramadan from house detention to family/friends' address in Ramadan.
Following the prosecution's complaint, yesterday three judges from the Criminal Council have decided on the move to effective detention for 30 days due to the risk of escaping. Someone from the Penal Council announced Ramadani will return to the Shutka prison, and he's gone.
Blerim Ramadani was detained on July 17th, at the Jarinska border crossing based on an arrest sheet issued by the Belgrade Court through Interpol Serbia. Serbian Police Minister Ivica Dacic, on July 25th, requested the extradition of Ramadan to Serbia by Skopje authorities. The issue of his extradition was raised even during Kosovo Interior Minister Jedal Svecla's visit to Skopje on July 31st. Svecl said Skopje must decide independently, accusing Serbia of trying to undermine relations between Western Balkan countries.
On 9 August, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo announced that the Constitutional Criminal Court in Skopje has made a decision on the non-extradition of Kosovo citizens, Blerim Ramadani, after 1 August it had moved from house detention to house arrest.
Ramadani, according to Kosovo media, is third Kosovo citizen as former soldier The KLA, arrested in northern Macedonia on Serbia's orders. Gafur Dugoli and Tomor Morina have also been arrested in the past, but with court ruling they have been released. /Portal alt
