The news has been confirmed by the Office of the President of Croatia. Osmani will participate in an ancient traditional organisation called “Sinjska Alka”, which is held in the city of Sinj in Croatia.
Kosovo Vice President Vjosa Osmani will come to Sinjska Alka at the invitation of President Milanovic, who, as in the past years, is organising Sinjska Alkaue ring of Sinj. Its arrival in Sinj has been agreed earlier under the direction of the Alkar Society, which in recent years has been trying to internationalise this traditional Cavalry event in Sinj and will be promoted outside the borders of Croatia”, the press release said.
On this visit to Croatia, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani will be accompanied by husband Pridon Sadriu. To be present in public, the president today has sent out reports of meetings that she has made during the week.
As Index.hr writes, the president is set to visit the display “Vanja Radush” and Stipe Sikirica- dialogue between teachers and students”, under the direction of exhibition curator Ana Jeanko and Gallery Director Dragana Modric.
With this competition is marked the Croatian-venedic victory against Ottomans in the 1715 war, in which the local population of about 700 Croats in co-operation with a smaller number of Venetians managed to protect Sinj against the 600,000 Ottoman soldiers led by Mehmed Pasha I.
