Miners still pending, Trepca Board: We are in touch with Government for executing June's wages

It has been two months since the company's miners “Trepca” in Stan Trg, Mitrovica, have not received the monthly and July salaries and are waiting for them.

And from the company management “Trepca” and the Supervisor Board have no precise date for their execution.

Donika Osmani-Uni-Uni-Mehmeti official for Communication with the Public, simultaneously executive assistants in a proposal for Telegrafi said they are committed to the ongoing days of the June wages being executed.

“Medagement of the U.S. Trepca Company. Along with the Supervisive Board and in continued communication with the Government are engaging in the ongoing days to execute monthly salaries June”, Osmani-Mehmeti has said.

The Kosovo government said days ago it was “dedicated to” to support Trepca company, for development and growth of economic potential, but called on its management to lower spending and increase production.

A total of 1,200 miners work in Trepca, while their average salary is 740 euros.

In a similar situation, Trepca miners have found themselves several times over the past year.

At the end of October 2023, for ten days in a row, they stayed on strike within the mine precisely because of the failure of wages and complaints about working conditions.

The main products Trepca produces are the concentrations of lead and glue containing silver, gold, and other elements.
