He was questioned by the court during the end of his testimony at The Hague, which began on August 19th 2024, reports “The Law on Justice”.
Witness said Albanians and Serbs reported to KFOR, even for cases that occurred before the UN mission to Kosovo comes.
“There was reporting on both Serbs and Albanians. They reported mass graves and wanted us to investigate. So things of this nature. The crime reports had occurred even before NATO forces arrived and said that people were buried here or buried there. We tried to investigate. This was great news for anyone who wanted to investigate mass graves to find bodies of mass graves. These reports usually came from rural areas or from persons we had contact”, the witness said.
The witness also said there were concerns in Gjilan as well about the presence of Russian KFOR soldiers.
Sometimes we get complaints about bringing Russian patrols. We reported it to the Russian commander. Then we found a shape and decided to make joint patrols”, the witness said.
He added that when citizens looked at American soldiers in Russian vehicles, behavior was changed. The Witness said that the opposite was true when they went to Serbian villages.
In questions by Judge Fergal Gaynor, the witness said they were trying to prevent acts of violence and create an environment in which institutions could later be created according to the UN directive, which would then be empowered and the day would come for NATO not to be needed there.
Additional questions for the witness included Thaci's defense through lawyer Nina Tavakoli.
Responding to her questions, the witness said it was their duty to prevent any KLA or Government police function.
So that's how this witness finished and the session will continue with the testimony of the 79th witness.
