“If we do not resolve the issue of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, we can forget about the integration of the Western Balkans, not just Serbia and Kosovo. I think we managed to do the best possible with the normalisation agreement that was adopted last year in Ohrid, but it was never implemented”, Lajcak said during the regional security conference G. LOBSEC in Prague.
He cited the upcoming parliamentary elections in Kosovo in February, warning that it would be naive to expect significant changes before the elections.
“However, political will is lacking and society is not ready for that. In addition, in February we will have parliamentary elections in Kosovo, so it is naive to wait for a turn ahead of the elections. But we must see a significant change in implementation immediately after the” elections, he said.
