Kurt once “avocate” Nagip Krasniqi's today brought an indictment, so he attacked the prosecution

In April 2023 in the Kosovo Assembly, the arrest of chief Kosovo Energy Corporation chief (KEK), Nagip Krasniqi, was due to Prime Minister Abin Kurti, lead numerous charges against the PP prosecutor and chief prosecutor Blerim Isufaj.

Kurti had then come to the defense of Krasniqi, while saying there is a negative mood for his rule in the State Prosecution.

Kurti, meanwhile, had qualified the Prosecutor as selective, while she said she “with equal zeal did not act even with evidence of previous abuses”.

He has linked this to the figure of Isufaj, whose abilities he has questioned.

“It's about a prosecutor who's well-known that Dino Asanaj's murder case classified him into suicide, while Hamdi Sopa's suicide turned him into murder. It's known as the prosecutor that no case has ever been won in court, and that's what this prosecutor wants to become chief prosecutor”, Kurti said.

He has said that justice in Kosovo suffers, the cause of prosecutors who do not know, nor do they want to work.

For these positions, Kurti was accused by opposition lawmakers of defending a suspect of involvement in corruption, which, according to them, has been Vetevendosje's official.

Nagip Krasniqi was arrested by the Special Prosecutor on April 19th of this year. According to the prosecution, the same was suspected to have committed criminal acts “Use of official position or authority”, “Effecting” and “Interest conflict”.

In September, however, he was released from custody, but was barred from approaching the KEK facility in 50m.

Meanwhile, the KEK Board suspended him from the post of chief of this corporation on 25 April.

Krasniqi, in the welcoming letter, has said that “has failed to fully meet his goal, but has left some good traces of”.

While on 19 August, the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo has filed charges against the former chief executive of the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK), Nagip Krasniqi.

According to the PSRK report, Krasniqi is suspected of criminal activity “misuse of the official position or authority defined”.

The indictment includes details concerning the favour Krasniqi allegedly made to a Slovenian power purchase company.

Krasniqi had acknowledged in 2022 that he bought electricity from GEN, which has points in several Balkan states but has the main branch in Slovenia.

“We've bought energy from the traders that were offered. We can't decide which one to approach. GEN has made several offers and she has different points. She won several auctions.
