Former KLA soldiers wanted by Serbia may be arrested in northern Macedonia

On the other hand, according to the three judges of the Criminal Court, there was no basis for the extradition of Blerim Ramadan, who had already escaped from domestic arrest ordered by Judge Pajazit of the same court.

Consequently, this means that former KLA soldiers wanted by Serbia could be arrested in northern Macedonia.

“The Criminal Council of the Department for Organised Crime and Corruption at the Constitutional Criminal Court in Skopje, on the occasion of making the decision he found no legal confirmations have been met for the extradition of the person mentioned. No reasons have been given based on which it was instructed when it acknowledged that the procedure was initiated in accordance with Article 75 paragraph 1 of the Law for International Co-operation in Criminal Affairs, as a cut procedure that would be conducted as regular procedure in accordance with Article 68 concerning Article 51 of the same law. On the other hand, during the retrial, the first degree court has taken into account the related indicators, as well as provisions of the Law for International Co-operation in Criminal Affairs and the European Convention for Extradition.
