Opening Ibër Bridge: Kurt has “share on nails”, now it's about co-ordination with Allies.

The Ibri Bridge has brought another clash between the Government of Kosovo and international allies. The United States of America is constantly seeking from Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti co-ordination with them and not making decisions that could create tensions, writes Periscope. Two days ago US Ambassador to Kosovo Jeffrey Hovenier sent a message to Kurt that opening the Ibër Bridge “would jeopardise American soldiers within KFOR”.
Before long, this message was effective, and Kurt softened. The country's prime minister, Albin Kurti, during the meeting yesterday with his ministers, indicated that they would continue co-ordinating with partners over the Ibri Bridge issue.
“We have welcomed the preliminary reports of the assessment of the bridge's sustainability, the relevant results of these reports that we have shared yesterday immediately with Commander KFOR, General Ulutaş and his team, in the spirit of ongoing consultations and co-ordination we have. The government of the Republic of Kosovo, and I as prime minister, deeply believe that freedom of movement and rule of law on the one hand, as well as peace and security on the other are both defeated and needed for the country, society and state, citizens and communities. We will continue consultations and co-ordination with our partners. The opening of the bridge is against no one, let alone our partners”, Kurt said during the toast.
While on the other hand, the country's president, Vjosa Osmani, who paid a visit to the US, said that “Never been told are against opening Ibër Bridge“.
My “in my meetings with the United States has never been said to be against the opening of the bridge, while the agreements in Brussels are in progress, which have preceded the opening of the bridge. But as for every security issue, they require that Kosovo institutions and our security allies plan together, which takes into account the security assessment of Kosovo and our allies, and I assure you that in most cases they are identical. And based on these joint assessments, the most convenient moment is resolved so that the bridge issue and its opening will be permanent success, not the success of the moment, but the success as permanent”Osman said.
And EU Commission spokesman Peter Stano, though acknowledging that bridges are for people's unification, he said days ago that Ibri's is “explosive and problematic questions”. So, he said it should be resolved through dialogue.
“Bridges usually unite people. Unfortunately, the situation we have in northern Kosovo and in Mitrovica is the result of a large number of difficult political circumstances. So we've always said it's an explosive issue, a problem issue, and like all problem issues, it has to be solved with dialogue. Because if you have a problem, then you solve it with dialogue, not unilateral decisions”, Stano had said in an interview for Serbian media N1. / P ERISCOPIA
