Former Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has said it is unacceptable that in choosing a member of the Pension Trust Board representing workers, a person who, according to evidence offered by the BSPK, does not meet the legal criteria to be the representative of workers at the Pension Trust Board.
In a Facebook post, he has invited all trade unions to join “to prevent this violation”.
“See BSPK's letter sent to the Kosovo Assembly and the members of the Commission for Business and Finance. In fact, this government behavior is nothing new now. During the mandate of this government, social dialogue has drowned. The government has fought unions with all means. The work of the Economic-Social Council is paralysed”.
The symbolic salaries that workers have made as a contribution to union membership are now controlled by the Government, and now these types of payments are halved. Each unionist who has opposed the government has been lynched by officials and militants from the ruling party, which links have been followed by other actions in the relevant organisation. These frauds calling for union empowerment in the private sector are hampering with any form of union organisation in the public sector”, Hoti has said.
