The Lebanese militant group, Hezbollah, said it has carried out an attack fearing Monday morning in northern Israel, while the Israeli army said two members were injured during the attack.
This attack comes at the time when fear has increased for a regional conflict after a senior Hezbollah commander was killed in Lebanon last week, and the political leader of Hamas, the Palestinian group declared terrorist organisation by the United States and the European Union, was killed in Iran.
Through an announcement, Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran, said it has targeted a military base in northern Israel in response to “attacks and murders” committed by Israel in several villages south of Lebanon.
The attack does not appear to be part of a sharp response expected in connection with the murder of Hezbollah Commander Fouad Shukur in Beirut last week.
The Israeli Army said fire services are working to extinguish the fire that erupted as a result of the attack on Aylet Hashahar.
Israel and Hezbollah have exchanged fire on almost daily bases since the war between Israel and Hamas began on October 7th.
The murder of Hamas' political chief, Ismail Haniyeh, last week in Tehran, Iran and the murder of Hezbollah Commander Fouad Shukur, in Beirut have raised tensions in the region, while Israel is preparing for a response by Iran and its Allied militia. / REL/
