The incident with President Vjosa Osmani at Skopje Airport seems to have been the only one of its kind. Chief diplomat Donika Grovalla has said that the security of this airport has had improper behaviour against the high delegations of the Republic of Kosovo repeatedly over the years.

Northern Macedonia's deputy prime minister, Arben Fetai, has discovered this following yesterday's meeting with Gervala over Wednesday's incident.

Fetai said Macedonian institutions are conducting the necessary investigations and that there will be responsibility for any violations that can be found by airport camera recordings

“I heard the minister's concerns, which told me that improper behaviour has confronted senior delegations of the Republic of Kosovo over the years by security personnel engaged by the company in question. We found that the interstate reports between Northern Macedonia and Kosovo are excellent and that we will jointly engage to deepen them further, on the basis of partnership, as the Allied states sharing common values and are closely connected on every level”, Fetai wrote on Facebook yesterday.

The Kosovo presidency reacted again yesterday over this case, where it expressed indignation at statements by the Northern Macedonia Ministry of Internal Affairs, but also with, as it was, the propaganda against Kosovo by some media in the neighbouring state.

The Kosovo presidency called on authorities in Skopje that “instead of reasoning and allowing propaganda against Kosovo”, urgently address this case and take measures “against officials who have made this attack on the Republic of Kosovo”.

yesterday's “Situate at Skopje Airport cannot be explained or assessed otherwise, except as a pure provocation and tendency to cause incident”, it was said in response.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora said it has presented a protest note to Macedonian authorities, demanding full clarification of the event.

Following the presidency's statement and the protest note, the Northern Macedonia Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued in response.

From the MPJ of Northern Macedonia, they have said they express regret over what they call the <x0-understandings that occurred during yesterday's trip of President of the Republic of Kosovo N.E. Vjosa Osmani at Skopje International Airport”.

The Republic of Northern Macedonia and the Republic of Kosovo have positive and constructive relations and bilateral co-operation, with no open issues and genuine and ongoing dialogue at all levels and in all areas. In this context, we express our regret for misunderstandings occurred during yesterday's trip to Sze President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani at the international airport in Skopje”, said in the communique issued by the Northern Macedonia MPJ.

MPJs have said that after analysis of the event all necessary actions will be taken in order to avoid such situations.

The Republic of Northern Macedonia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade has already requested information from all competent institutions concerning yesterday's event. Following an adequate analysis of data collected in direct co-operation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, all necessary activities and measures will be undertaken, aimed at avoiding such or similar phenomena and situations in the future”, the MPJ report said.

Otherwise, the presidency announced that on August 1st Osmani had attempted to obtain a personal phone from a Skopje Airport security member.

The Macedonian MPB has declared that on August 1st, Osman was crossing border controls, when he was asked to leave the phone and pass through the scanner, “a person from its security has pulled the employee to TAV, in order to pass it without a blank phone and hand luggage”.

But the presidency said Osmani was asked to put his personal phone on the scanner and she refused.

Macedonia's MPB itself agreed that the order was issued by the MPB of Northern Macedonia for such an audit, which conflicts with the rules of handling state leaders according to diplomatic practices”, was said in response to the Kosovo Presidency.
