The State Department has officially confirmed the death of an American citizen in the West Coast and has asked the Israeli government for more information, a spokesman said.
“We express our deepest condolences to the” family, the spokesman said.
However, the victim's identity has not been identified due to privacy, writes CNN.
“In respect for the family during this difficult time, we have no further comment”, the spokesman said.
Otherwise, recently Palestinian news agency W AFA, reported that Tawfiq Hazif Ajjaq, 17, was shot dead.
Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) and Israeli police said they received a report that an off-duty police officer and an Israeli civilian shot the Palestinian “idide suspected of throwing stones in the Al-Mazra dealt area of Ash-Sharqiya”.
The IDF says it is looking into claims that a soldier has shot him, while Israeli police have also launched an investigation.
