Three Days of Pre-election Coalitions

Political parties competing for the February 9th elections have three days left to formalise coalitions. Currently, the Vetevendosje Movement has not warned so far of any coalition, since The PDK is expected to compete alone, and by LDK they have not responded, and parties like AAK and Initiative with other parties have [...]
There are three days remaining deadlines for application for political subjects wishing to run as coalitions in the February 9th elections.
However, this race seems to be the biggest parties to enter alone.
Vetevendosje Movement is expected to decide on this issue by the end of this week, while The PDK will compete alone, RTK learns.
Television has also tried to receive answers from the Democratic League of Kosovo, if this party is to enter the pre-election coalition, but the same have not responded.
While the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Social Democrat Initiative have joined the coalition for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
For former CEC leader Mazum Baraliu, opposition parties would have to be more unique in order to challenge or even risk Vetevendosje Movement in this election process.
“Determination I think that during these days, although there may be some movement in other parties, but Vetevendosje on the last day can present the coalition with the Guso list because any option, any other solution would be inappropriate, not to say unsuccessful, but also to Vetevendosje”, Baraliu said.
And for university professor Nundarizi, coalitions over the years have not yielded desired fruit. He says such ones can only be linked to small parties that fail to pass the election threshold.
“Coalitions whether they are official, or unofficial ones thought as post-election coalitions have not yielded desired fruit, have been avenged of political parties in all cases. Large parties will probably go on their own to the elections, but there are smaller parties, whole minority parties which may join some major parties. Because the pre-election threshold is impossible to pass by these big parties”, Pacarizi said.
Under the general election law, political parties that are registered in the CEC and who want to race through the coalition should report the CEC by 30 August. / RTK
