The prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met in the United States with Senator Chris Murphy, in the margin of the National Democratic Convention.
First, underlining strong relations with the United States, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his interest in increasing business and economic co-operation with our American partners and allies.
Furthermore, they also talked about developments in the country, the security situation in the region and the importance of co-operation among the states of the Western Balkans, as well as the important moment in American politics under the upcoming November 5th elections.
In terms of dialogue with Serbia, Prime Minister Kurti stressed Kosovo's commitment to implementing the Bazic Agreement in full and Ohrid's Implementation Annex. He added that to implement the agreement, its accession is needed on Serbia's part as well, signing it as evidence of commitment to implement the agreement.
Prime Minister Kurti underlined that Serbia must withdraw the letter sent to the European Union on the part of former Prime Minister Brnabyq last December through which Serbia's refusal and withdrawal of the agreement is expressed. Serbia must return to the agreement and respect it in order to implement the same. There's no implementation of the deal because there's no respect for it first of all.
Now, when 11 months of the assassination of our police sergeant, Africa Bulnjak, in Zvecan Banjsk, is the last time that chief criminal Milan Radojciq is handed over to Kosovo's justice authorities, and for that, Prime Minister Kurti demanded that the United States put pressure on official Belgrade.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Senator Murphy for the meeting and conversation, expressing gratitude for his continued support of Kosovo.
