Bislimi to the opening of Ibër Bridge: No unilateral decision, no unresolved question of dialogue

The first prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, said the opening of the Ibër Bridge in Mitrovica is not the unilateral decision of the Government of Kosovo, nor the unresolved issue of dialogue, but rather is the main requirement of the EU-brokered agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. Through a post [...]
Through a post on his X platform account, he goes on to state that, furthermore, the EU implementation plan of August 5, 2016, considers the opening of the bridge as “The symbol of normalisation of relations between Kosovo Serbs, Kosovo Albanians and other communities”.
The Commission's report on Kosovo 2020 concludes as follows: Work on the Mitrovica bridge has been completed, and the bridge must be opened for the flow of vehicles without delay or further obstacles. This is the EU's wording, but the agreement has been reached between Kosovo and Serbia”, Bislim explains.
He says that on his recent trip to Kosovo on June 19th, when he discussed the Mitrovica bridge, Lajcak said that if Kosovo does not prefer to discuss this issue again in Brussels, he recommends internal discussions with local Serbs in the north on possible security implications and their related concerns, Klakosova reports.
QUINT “Partners increased the application for technical inspections. We have followed both recommendations. Now the EU is threatening Kosovo if it implements the EU-brokered agreement and additional recommendations. We strongly believe that the EU promotes more freedom of movement and fewer borders or walls between different ethnicities”, completed its post by Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi.
