Bahtiri: EU's unfair stance, bridge opening will pose no problem

Former South Mitrovica Chairman Agim Bahtiri has said the European Union's stance against opening Ibër Bridge is unfair and strange.

He has remembered that there were also agreements on the issue in Brussels, and now says their position for him has been very serious.

Bahtiri in Tv 1 has said that opening the bridge will pose no problem and that all citizens want it.

All the signals tell us that no problem arises if the bridge opens. There will be incidents and all citizens and Serbs and other nationalities, but Albanians as well. The EU's insistence, unjustly, surprisingly, on not allowing the opening of the bridge to come to me extremely seriously. Their attitude actually impressed me, I didn't expect”, Bahtiri said.

The EU, but also the US, have voiced opposition to the opening of the Ibër Bridge following warnings from the Kosovo government about such a thing.

KFOR has reacted to this, saying the bridge should be opened with agreement in the dialogue.
