Kosovo's Statistics Agency has published data from the harmonised Consumer Prices Index, under which consumer prices in July of this year have increased by 2.2 per cent compared to last July.
The AKS report said that in July there were price hikes of 0.3 per cent compared to June.
The overall harmonised consumption prices “is higher at an average of 2.2% in July 2024, compared to July 2023. This is mainly explained with the rise of consumer prices in this period in COICOP groups and subgroups: flight tickets (22.0%); coffee, tea and cocoa (7.7%); fish (7,7%); alcoholic beverages (7,2%); trees (6.3%); solid fuel, firewood, diapers, etc. (6,0%); glass, glass and kitchen vehicles (5,9%); goods and services for the usual maintenance of the domestic economy (5,6%); sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and candy (5.6%); clothes (4.9%); personal clothing (4,3%); mineral water, non-alcoolitic drink, fluids from trees and vegetables (3,7%); and other rechrement equipment, gardens and berries (36%); bread and cereal (3.1%); tobacco (2.7%); fuel and lubricants for personal transportation, (21%), food products (21%), hotels, hotels (9%; and household facilities (1.8%), bread and cereals (3.9%; and cereals (3.7%; sugar (al); and sugar (alc); and sugar; and alcohol (al); and alcohol (al).
And the price decrease is said to be seen in the vegetable group (5.2%) with an impact of (-0.2 percent) on IHCH.
According to the AKS, the overall harmonised consumer price index is higher at an average of 0.3% in July 2024, compared to June 2024.
This is primarily explained with the rise of consumption prices in COICOP subgroups: flight tickets (8.7%); fuel and lubricants for personal transport equipment (2.9%); electricity (2.3%); tree (1.8% meat); (0.7%), with a combined impact of these subgroups by 0.5 percent in IHCH. While the price decrease is noted in the COICOP group: vegetables (-5.7%) with an impact of (-0.2 percent) on IHCK”, the ASS report said.
