One of those arrested is a 19-year-old Austrian “descended from northern Macedonia” that “has been living with his family at Ternitz”, according to “ronen Zeitung”. He was arrested “following strong suspicion of terrorism”, the Austrian newspaper wrote.
On the X platform, the Vienna tourism board announced that tickets to the three Swift concerts at the Ernst-Open Stadium for Thursday, Friday and Saturday have been sold overall.
Franz Ruff, the director of public security at Austria's interior ministry, said authorities were aware of <x0 malpractice” for a possible “attack, and also that there was a focus of... Taylor Swift's contracts in Vienna” from 19-year-old, Austrian news agency “Press Agency” said.
Ruff said that the 19-year-old is an Austrian citizen who had sworn allegiance to the Islamic State group and is believed to have radicalised on the internet. Ruff said the chemicals are secured and are being assessed. He didn't give more details.
The next arrest took place in Vienna, according to the newspaper report.
Vienna City officials have not reacted yet.
Security measures for concerts will be added. Ruff said ticket buyers should prepare for longer periods of time until they enter the concert.
