Albanian government approves decision on ensuring life insurance of members of Armed Forces sent abroad by missions

Under this decision, the Defence Ministry provides the lives of the personnel of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, sent to military missions and exercises abroad, for the years 2024, 2025 and 2026.
Ensuring the lives of personnel of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, sent to military missions and exercises abroad, for the years 2024, 2025 and 2026, is under contract related to security society, selected under rules defined in power legislation for public procurement.
This insurance covers events in life loss due to duty or as a result of accidents during its exercise; extinction; health damage, with permanent, complete, or partial disabilities as a result of an accident during the duration of the military mission and training abroad; health damage, with temporary, full or partial disabilities as a result of an accident during the duration of the military mission and training abroad; medical services in public or in private hospitals and abroad, when health coverage is not offered in public hospitals.
The amount set aside in the insurance contract, for each secured person, is not lower than $10 million in cases of loss of life due to duty or extinction; 12 million dollars, for cases of health damage with permanent disabilities; 5 million dollars for cases of loss of life as a result of duty exercise accidents.
The ruling also envisions $50,000 in health damage cases, with temporary disabilities as a result.
“Standard conditions of the insurance contract, including the body damage-profit cofficients' table approved by the Financial Supervisory Authority, serve as minimal, mandatory conditions to be implemented by insurance companies”, the decision said.
